Glass manufacturing specialist Romag has incorporated a new product in the range of tempered laminated glass, which introduces the highest levels of transparency and durability on the market. The new AirGlaz product combines special anti-reflective features with maximum strength for showcasing all kinds of objects for which visual clarity and a high level of protection are priorities.
The new product is made using iron-arm float glass with an advanced ‘sputter’ coating, which is then reinforced and toughened using advanced thermal treatment processes. This creates a strong, scratch-free surface with unique optical properties; a light transmission of 97% and a reflection of less than 1%. A great advance compared to a normal version of the architectural float glass, which typically has a light transmission of 90% and a reflection of 8%.
AirGlaz can be supplied as a single or double-sided unit without reflection and can also be combined with protective interlayers to create a laminated assembly, suitable for a wide range of security glass applications. This unique combination of visual clarity, strength and secure properties makes AirGlaz ideal for maximizing the visibility of showcase objects without compromising security.
It is available in a variety of thicknesses, with different size and laminate combinations. Its potential applications include high-value retail displays, museums, galleries, trophy cabinets and shopfronts as well as (air traffic) control towers, zoos and aquariums.
AirGlaz is manufactured in Romag’s special glass processing and laminating facilities, which contain temperature and humidity controlled rooms to ensure the highest quality of the product.
Romag, whose production processes are fully ISO-9001 certified, is also ISO-14001 and ISO-18001 certified.
